Please post pics of gauges mounted in 700 or 900s

My VDO 2 1/16 boost gauge has been sitting for a while waitn' for my 3 gauge a-pillar but i'm not sure when I will see that. So... I'm going to mount it over the holiday.

Anyway...trying to think of a good place to mount it. I want it to blend in and look stock as possible. Leaning towards mounting it on the steering column in front of the guages.

Post away.

Thanks

Here's mine.... Not exactly stock, but once it's installed, looks bloody slick.... If I ever find a damn digital camera, I'll take final pictures. Modified the dash a bit and fit a gauge surround from a 200 series in, fits like a glove

http://sp3ak.tunkeymicket.com/pics/volvo1.jpg -- lit up at night (SunPro gauge next to cluster isnt that bright, i did get a new bulb and that helped, i might switch it out to the other style i have on the dash... and the led's above the fan controls is for the e-fan and fog lights)

GlowShift (www.glowshiftdirect.com) gauges (boost and oil temp) in the dual dash pod (universal) sitting over the optional speaker area on the dash (1986 240 btw). Then SunPro oil pressure guage (bought before the other ones) in one of the factory areas next to the speedo cluster. The top hole is covered up with the stock flat panel/plastic cover for it and I've since added the gauge surround for the oil pressure gauge too (had to shave it some to get it to fit right).

From my position in the drivers seat i can see all the gauges just fine, I really like the locations. I do plan on adding in another gauge next to the speedo cluster at some point when I find one I deem as useful :) and have money!!!

instead of trying to match the a-pillar trim i just sprayed the other side to match the modded side

Wish I could take credit for that, but the PPO did that. I want to take the extra piece of glass off of it someday.

on my 940 i put my vdo gauge right in front of the stock boost gauge, on the gauge surround, it completely blocks out the stock gauge and if you place it carefully, from your viewing position at the drivers seat, you can see the whole tach too. I loved it.

gotta get a new gauge though, my vdo one broke when i crashed.

Boost gauge panel looked at first like this: http://koti.mbnet.fi/mtn/images/autot/GLT/paneeli2/18.jpg

and the 52mm panel looked like this http://koti.mbnet.fi/mtn/images/autot/GLT/paneeli/paneeli0.JPG

Both came out quite nicely. :)

My home made (and unfinished) pod on my 945.

http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/5942/20060915shoswet0013oy7.jpg

generic ebay pod chopped up and plastic welded (from the back with a soldering iron) into the original A post plastic. Needs a very fine bead of black silicone to finish it.

I could swear I had some pictures of my column install...guess not:-( I have a boost mounted on the left top side of the column in a cf pod

Anyways it is on a two series, so I guess that doesn't really help at all. Oh well I got to show off.

Nope, its a d-pic. Autometer's in dash version of the g-tech. It measures acceleration, est hp, reaction time, lateral g's etc. I haven't really played with it too much, but my maximum measured g's so far is 1.07, doesn't seem possible though.
