Not Bad for $50!!!!! It runs for about 2mins and then dies... cant seem to pinpoint why.... but whatever. Its a one owner 1982 242 GLT 5spd with LH 1.0 and Chysler ignition, for the record.

LH 1.0... nuts. Can't say i've ever heard about it.

That car is a steal for $50, the probably shouldn't be hard to fix either.

Why can't I ever run across something like this?
Sure, I've bought volvos for 50 bucks, but they had 200k on them (not a problem) and were rusted to all hell. .. .
Is it too much to ask? A clean body? no rust?
It just doesn't happen in Michigan. . .

There is some rust... bud it doesnt seem to extensive upon intitial inspection. The pass side door has a crease in it, but also not to bad all things considered.

He had $500obo bucks on the listing, lol... so I guess I talked him down a lil bit

I think I see the problem.

You have two MAFs. (Atleast thats what it looks like).

Get a haynes manual and start checking EVERYTHING. EFI without DTCs SUCKS.

I hope you make something out of it..
I';ve passed on quite a few 242's like that 1983 242 with flathood $200 and not 2 blocks away one EXACTLY like your new one for $150.. but it had similar problems and I never wanted to deal with them..
Good luck..

Nice find. Good luck with that LH 1.0--that's gonna be a doozy, which is why you should use all the money you saved on the purchase and swap in a B230FT, since you mentioned wanting a turbo anyway.

dude, your car's a twin of mine! I also have LH1.0, the only real difference between our cars is the paintjob and the mileage. (mine has 220k+)

good score man... I started a thread a long time ago about getting performance out of 1.0... do a search for it, theres some good advice in it.

Thats being taken care of... I have a squirter block and a bunch of turbo goodies from my previous brick just collecting dust...

...but for now 1.0 will suffice, if I can get it to not idle at 3,000rpm and then die after a few minutes.... but whateva.
