Nice! You really make me want to go that route on coilovers.

I take it your exhaust must have some bark to it? Look well done though!

Springs are 275lbx10" front, 250lbx11" rear
Exhaust is 2.5" catback (to say that it is catback doesn't account for the fact that the cat is no more than a shell with a pipe welded in the middle of it) with a 30" Cherrybomb. Sounds Amazing.
I'm staying with steelies, but in the 740 flavor.

What about the steering? How far from level are the lower control arms? What's the angle of the rods from the rack to the steering arms?

I have never seen a decent solutions to the above problems.

That car is in great condition!

The crankcase breather setup stock is the best one that Volvo used on these engines. Why not just go to the air cleaner instead of that breather? Where you put the breather is where the hose attaches and goes to the air filter box.

Anyway, have fun with a really nice early 242!

It's funny, there aren't many other car forums around that appreciate steelies as much as we do.

The top of the sleeve was like 1/8" below the top of the strut tube.

A great common project with VERY noticeable, awesome results; When i got the car, it had the original 178k mile blown shocks and struts, the difference bilstein hds and coilovers has made is beyond comprehension. I've got the rails part down... now to add the rocket :volvo:

Love the straight-out exhaust- I want to do the same on my GT. I second the request for you to record the exhaust! How loud is it?
