Greetings,

Haven't been on the board too much lately since the '78 242 was smashed(while parked on the street, wasn't driving). I had been searching for another older Volvo to be used as the "city" car. Finally lucked upon this one. Its a '73 142. Was a west coast car until a couple years ago when it was shipped cross-country. It had been sitting for two years when I picked it up. My buddy and I drove up last night to pick it up. Threw a battery in it and it started right up. Drove it 75 miles home without a hiccup! There is just a bit of surface rust here and there but the quarters/battery tray/trunk etc are perfect. It also has the Virgos and a R-sport cluster(I believe, someone please correct me if im wrong). I apologize for the poor quality pic, I haven't done anything other than a quick rinse off. I promise I will take better pics as soon as possible.

LOL, sorry about that. We did meet at the AWE meet.

Mesoam, I have the C70 as well. It didn't throw a rod though, the T-belt tensioner snapped. The rebuilt engine is back in the car. All that is left at this point is fabricating the new turbo manifold(co-worker is doing it for me). The NSX is mildly modified, haven't had it that long. Currently has Zanardi springs/bilstein shocks. ARK DT-S exhaust, '02 rear valence. Recently picked up an old-school set of HRE 525's that are going on when it comes out of storage. Here are a few pics from the C rebuild.

Good to see things have been moving along! I like that new city car. That is not only an Rsport cluster. It's also an Rsport steering wheel you are looking at it through. Nice find!
I dig the NSX, too.

Enjoy!

I've had the C70 for two years. I have been working on the C for the past year or so. I purchased the NSX this summer. Once the C70 is finished I will start working on the NSX. To be perfectly honest there isn't much I really need to do to it. I might go FI at some point but it already puts a smile on my face on a pretty consistent basis:)

go light-pressure turbo on the NSX, ~7 psi and 400+ hp should be more than enough, I'd spend the rest of my money on suspension stuff and maybe some TE37's or OZ's.

Hi there,

Thanks for the kind words. I haven't had much time to work on the car yet but im looking forward to cleaning everything up. The wheels on the NSX are old school DP's. I actually was lucky enough to pick up an old set of HRE 525's for the X as well. They originally sold for over $1000 a wheel in 93/94 and I purchased all four for $500:) Just trying to decide on the wheel center color now. Either black or silver, any input would be appreciated.

Greg, started working at AWE this summer after finishing my tour in the Coast Guard. Its great being surrounded by cool cars all day long!

regards,

Matt
