increase power in a 740 GLE?

Hello :), i'm new on this forum, hehe, well, first of all, my name is Samuel and I'm from Spain, this morning I finnally got to buy a volvo 740GLE!!the car needs to replace a few things but its preety good. I'd like to know is there is any way to increase the engine power without changing a lot of thing and not to burning down the engine :).The engine is the 2.3 from 1985.Thanks a lot :).

I suppose you have the B230E engine then?

A big intake manifold connecting to something directly under it?

Start changing the maintenance parts like oil, oilfilter, airfilter, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, injector seals and so on... Then you probably will heve it running a lillte bit better...

I changed the distributor cap and rotor today, and wow! the idle rpm increeased with 200, and it pulls much harder now!

But those two parts cost like $45 on Volvo... But definately worth it!
