Sorry, none of that NA power horse**** to be found in this thread, so look somewhere else if you're hell bent on staying slow.

Back in april I bought my professor's 1 owner 244DL (1992), for the sum total of $600.

Note the shortened stock downpipe, to clear the firewall.

As it sits today, after about 6 hours of work (trans flush and upgraded cooler, and turbo swap):
1993 (or later, year unknown as it wasnt orriginal to the donnor car) B230FT, unmodified.
TD04hl-13t (I like the looks of the wheel better than the 15g  ) and a conical housing, unported, will get to that later.
later model aw-71, but not the lockup (thats soon).
940 E-fan
the mack daddy transmission cooler, rated for heavy duty use
modified stock 700 series downpipe (adjusted to fit the 240)
MBC
Fred's chips.

The goal for the car is basically to get it up around 215-220hp with enough goodies on there that I dont have to worry about things breaking. I've got an aw-71L thats going to go to the transmission shop for a rebuild and upgrade, a slightly higher stall converter, and a 700 series locker. The exhaust is going to get corrected (nothing crazy, 2.5 off the downpipe, and a couple of mufflers to hopefully hide any noise it generates)
Then the suspension will be addressed (poly everywhey, sways, springs, and struts, and a few chassis connectors), and I'll be done. If I get a wild hair, I might swap in a B cam.

So far, with the 13c @ 14psi its posted a best time of 14.5@92.6 with a loose exhaust, and a 15.0@88 with all the exhaust still attached (88mph traps = ~150 whp)

4/2/2007 updates:
So after breaking the volvo locker the day after I installed it, I've given up on mods for this car, a set of poly bushings, maybe lowering springs, and new stock shocks. I might get swaybars, thats undecided, but I haven't really decided if I want to keep it for a while or not.

What was wrong with it that he sold it for $600? Pretty cool that it's a one owner car, how many miles were on it? Is it decently clean?

It had an electrical fault (that I might be experiencing now, in another form), the car would die going over a specific bump. started right back up, and continue on normally. Shop couldn't find anything wrong with it, and I never did either. Its cutting out again, but not dying all the way, wondering if its a related issue. Car had 183k on it when I got it. its now got about 192k

Updates: changed the oil, installed the diode and a 4 bar fpr, turned the boost up. Tomorrow or weds: 100amp alt, and some more grounds on everything, maybe that will tame the problem.

Installed the locker tonight, now to address a few suspension issues and work out some sort of exhaust thats going to be both functional (2.5) and quiet, and it'll be done. :)

I once heard a story about a woman who had the same problem! Everytime she went over a specific speedbump the car would die, but it would start right up afterwards.
So the lady would take the key off her keychain and give it to the mechanic that could find any problem every time they drove the car.
The dealership just could't find anything, so they after a few months of problems and the customer returning and complaining they had notified the importer of the brand.
They sent someone to go look and have a drive with the lady. And indeed, at the specific speedbump the car died on them. The man of the impoter started it right up and noticed the keys had changed position.

What was the problem, the lady had soo many keys on the keychain that it was soo heavy that it would pull the key down when driving off of that specific speedbump.
So they took some keys off, and the problem was solved.

Just a thought. Maybe that's your problem also?? :-P ;-)

thought about it, i dont have a lot of keys, and my professor didn't either (well there are ~ 2 other keys with that key, and he had the volvo key, office key, and house key). no amount of shaking the ignition gets it to cut off. It doesnt do it for me (*UNLESSSSSS* this is the same problem that causes my car to cut out when its cold/when I'm running a lot of boost)
