loving it, i kept thinking about doing a 3rd mount like that. think the studs will hold up?

how is the 3rd mount attached at the strut tower? did you weld on the bracket?

Thanks, I have my doubts also but since the load is spread across 4 studs I think it'll hold up.

It's welded, you can kinda see it in one photo. Wanted get some heat cycles / more drying time on it so the paint matches the rest of the bay before getting any up close shots of it.

I think Travis had something similar on his 242 ITB car. I seem to recall a plate that was bolted just to two studs on the low side of the valve cover. Maybe a 3rd point down to the exh. manifold that I didn't notice. I cut a plate to try something similar but never followed through...instead opting for the 30psi-boost-rated mikeP 3rd mount.

Been driving the 242 quite a bit the past few weeks, WRX is getting jelly. Been putting quite a bit of time into the motorcycle project also. Ended up swapping the big valve head back on a few weeks ago, 15psi with this head feels the same as 24psi on the stock 530 head.

Not sure if you guys have heard but there's a major forest fire that's kicked up just west of Fort Collins this past weekend. Most of the roads I normally go for drives on west of town were closed. I drove around where I could a snapped a few pictures earlier today.

Things have only gotten worse the past two days. You could see fires on some of the furthest east mountains last night, nature gives and takes.
