About half of the areas on this forum are now filled with "Sticky" Posts for almost the first screen's worth of posts...

Other online forums have made areas called "Good Archived Posts" or somthing to that regard. Could we maybe start somthing similar here? These are valuable threads, to be sure, but do we really need to scroll past "FAQ: Putting Turbo on NON-turbo engine!" every day?

Thoughts? I realized the proper way to store this info would be to begin updatng the Mods section of the tbricks website again, but since nobody has the time (not a slam), could we manage this instead for the time being? (Not to mention storing the good bits in one place would make it easier for someone who does then go to update the website...

I think the Events forum could benefit most from a bit more concentration on keeping the stickies under control. Right now, there are several posts for events from September and even August I think that are still stickied. Is this really neccessary, or have people just forgotten to un-stick them?

as per the details in a few other threads, once the article stuff gets in place we'll be creating a new forum for collecting info and composing new articles. This is where those stickies will go. Until then they're just up as stickies to keep track of them and continue getting input.

The events forum is up to date, if you see things stickied from before oct. you need to clear your cache or something.

The events forum was sort of my region when I started this moderating, so I think I'm usually the one to stick/unstick topics. I usually leave them up for a week or more after the event in case people want to post a recap or pictures. Sometimes they go too long. And sometimes posts don't get stickied for current events, such as Doug's BBs since they aren't always set dates, etc.
