**notice... there is as of yet no hard and fast date for this event... check back frequently for updates here**
In the interest of maximizing turnout and minimizing turnaways, this very well could be after xmas

You all saw the video, heard the stories, saw the picutures ( and missed out on some seriously cool **** that wasnt video taped).

Well here it is, the offical announcement for SE tbricks 2.0.

The preliminary plans are: to stay in town friday night, hit the track, make people cry (no really, we will this time. more so than last). No rush no worries, etc. if you think something might break, bring a spare, facilites are in place and on hand to fix just about anything... strike that, anything.

Saturday will be a road trip north to birmingham and a moment of truth event on the dyno to settle all claims and ****talking that might not have been dealt with at the track. Saturday evening will probably find the crowd out on the prowl, followed by binge drinking (naturally) and recovery sunday for the trips home. for those worried about the cost: group sessions on the dyno are in the $50 for half an hour range, the track runs $10 (for all night, unlimited passes). naturally hellrasing on the street is free.
We will be crashing at a house friday and an appartment saturday, so no worries with hotels.
Dates are tenative right now, probably some time after the 10th of december and before xmas (or hell we could do a new years meet but that would probably nix both the track and the dyno. cool none the less).
8-)

Please, try for mid december. I"m getting my 531 shipped off to a machinist in nevada and would like to have it on by then, but its gonna take me a month till it gets back, installed, tuned etc. I would like have something to show at the dyno  . Erm. I'll be up for some hellraising on the streets, and will hopefully be sporting the brick in slightly better tune than last time. Also, i'm BYOB this time. You bastards aren't gonna poison me like last time. :-P

Damn, dude, I'm sure there is a competent machine shop in ATL... no?

Anyway, I'm down. Give me a few weeks notice on a concrete date, as my new job isn't quite as flexible.

I suggest a burnout contest? I'll bring some **** tires on some steelies... show all those BonerBallers how we do it in the dirty souf... :-D

Sounds wicked man. I'm definitely down assuming several things magically converge in simultaneity:

1: We get a solid date that's a month in advance instead of changing 2 weeks ahead of time.

2: I can get the weekend off from all 3 of my jobs at the same time

3: I get a clutch that can support 250hp for real this time, and for cheap

4: I get a turbo fuel system so I don't have to take off spraying 250hp of gas at 3,000rpm when I launch at the track like last time.

5: Have the money to afford the aforementioned.

If that all converges on the same weekend, I'm there!

Ok, I'm down for whenever this time, as most of the even planning, room and board, etc is falling on sam's shoulders (because thats what he wanted). If we cant fill all the slots for a dyno day, i've got some buddies local that will go with.

The only problem is sam's got a new job (best buy) and he can't ask off in advance for. so thats going to be an issue. Looks like it might be the weekend of the 19th- 21st, this could pose some problems for those with family plans. the previous weekend of the 12th should work for me, i need to check my exam schedule (cause i know i've got some saturday finals :( ), but i think i finish up by the 10th. Hopefully it wont be bitterly cold, the people that run the track are pussies.... :freak:

just checked my exam schedule, exams dont finish til the 17th :freak: so it looks like it might be the weekend of the 19th..

linuxman51

afaik no one lives near a 1/4 track, thusly the inclination to seriously abuse one's volvo is greatly decreased. Besides, I dunno if mine would make it that far..

so how many people are we looking at accomodating, kenny?

also, is anyone from the DC MD VA PA area looking to caravan down there? mapquest says that its 740 miles from DC to Birmingham, which is just about 10 hours at around 75 miles/hr (i know its easy math, just thought id throw it out there)

keep us posted

thats got nothing to do with the next meet. lets try and keep this on topic (sorry [/*******])

FINALLY a place for the hardcore discussion of events. :-P

~500 miles to Vermont was almost 9hr, and we hauled ass on the way there with two stops for gas. To do 740 miles in 10hr, I think you'd have to cruise at 85+ most of the time.

Earlier this year I drove to Erie, PA, 591 miles from my driveway, and it took me right on 10 hours. This was cruising 75-80 the whole way.

792 miles from my house to south Miami takes me 11 1/2 hours.

I love I-95 with a Valentine One... :-D

mike, i wasnt thinking about gas stops, my bad.
i was simply thinking that to go 740 miles, you'd probably go about 75 the whole way, thusly driving for around 10hrs...with stops it will proabably be about 12 hours i think, assuming we dont stop too long in one place (i.e. speeding tickets lol)

mapquest says its about 790 miles from my house (arlington, va) to Montgomery, and 100 miles between birmingham and montgomery, so im guessing that it is going to be about 1600-1700miles all told.

c'mon bricksters, who wants to embark on this journey?

carpool or convoy (altho carpool in the fastets car should get you here the quickest ;) ) if yall want to or if it works better, i dont see getting here a day early being a problem, but then the nice thing about multiple drivers in one car is well, multiple drivers, no sleep stops needed eh

This last one was a blast guys (dana, mike, etc) the more the merrier (and the more heads scratched at the illegals ;) )

Hey,

Hopefully I can get the yellowbrick up and running reliably by then without breaking too many parts. Driving distance is not really an issue and I would have two people from t-bricks coming with me...I dont think we would all be driving our bricks tho as Redbricks(mike) OD **** out. By the way I cant seem to sign out from his anme on my comp so I just post under his sn. Sounds like a GREAT plan lets get a date set. I think after exams will be perfect, cant wait to see multiple turbobricks sliding sideways!

Later, Jon McMasters
