Yea, should have thought to clean out the 745 before I started taking it apart...every time I work on it is like a grease bath...

I wouldnt rhino line your engine bay. I did the floor in the back of my car, and its great in some ways, but junk gets stuck in it and the rough surface makes it hard to clean. I feel like its going to get full grease and road grime in a tight area that would be easier to clean off of a smooth finish.

Yeah, wouldn't a smooth surface be easier to clean? If I recall correctly someone on here mentioned they had clearcoated some bit of their engine in order to make it smooth and thus easier to clean.

edit: I'm sure a bunch of people have done it, but I specifically remember one saying it.

My 245 was that bad...Old car brush + various degreasers + hose = nice clean engine bay.

Yeah seriously. I always thought that brown was the stock color of a Volvo engine bay regardless of exterior color. I just figured it was some kind of protective coating and ignored it. Unless your car is a show car, a clean engine bay is just a waste of time IMO...

I can't stand a dirty engine bay... I considered respraying one of mine just because it too many scratches/blemishes for my likings (and it's really not that bad http://album3.snapandshare.com/23/47445/823145.jpg)

If I was in appleton I'd pressure wash it for you, it would feel soooo good.

looks like its a slight engine fire at some time. Ive seen several nissan 300zx's with an engine bay dirty like that.

its way nicer to have a clean engine under the hood when you have to work on it.

very much so. that way you can see whats leaking from where, and you dont get covered in sludge.
