Yeah, bent a rod yesterday. Pretty sure it was due to the my valve icing.

if it stuck open causing a lean condition causing detonation or knock or sorts

if it stuck open it would be a rich condition in boost

actually smarty pants, the valve stuck open at ~10inHg of vac while I was pulling out into traffic on monday, had stomp on the accelerator to get to close and I spiked 18psi, hit fuel cut. Car ran like crap, pulled over, turned car off, check engine (felt like I blew an IC hose), nothing. Restarted car, ran fine, didn't knock. 2 days later of nothing more than 15psi(no spikes) and runing great, it's starts knocking. Forgot the obligatory :roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll:

should he reverse the polarity on the starter to turn the engine the other way? should probably take the turbo off first...

I'll just drive it in reverse from now on, hope that bends the rod in the other direction.

make a list of stuff you might need. I have an extensive collection of spares. things that might be suspect and could keep it from running/driving, like plug wires, coil, dizzy, etc. I don't have any of that stuff, but list it anyway (I do have spare plug wires actually).

Between Michael, Rob, and I we can probably show up an assemble you a new 240 with all the stuff we have laying around. The fact that you have mostly a whole car already is simply a bonus. :-D I can also hit up my parents house and pillage the GT. It certainly isn't going to move anytime soon.

let's fix the '81...I've seen that one move under its own power before. if you had to drive the brownie around for a few weeks, I would like that very much.
