I always use that key rather than the one with no black plastic around it :e-shrug:

Both my real key and my valet key has a black top. The valet key is just smaller on top (the part where you hold it). Mine are genuine OE Volvo. There the original keys that came with the car new. Mabie they did something different in 1995??

You did the can wrong though, you want little holes and a bunch of ash on top of them, then you...........

It's mostly that few people who bought their cars used actually received the valet key with it. Most owners lose them (in my experience). The last to cars I bought, one was from a pawn shop and they only had one key for the car, and the other car went for the PPO to the PO without the originals, then to me without the originals. So, there you go.

Oh, i didn't know that..

I'm using the big one, and the small key as an reserve-key hidden at home :P

What's the point of a Valet key? (is it a fancy word for a spare-key?)

I only have a big one... :(
And shotgunning FTW!

My neighbor's Mail key unlocks AND starts both of his fords, Tauras and Festiva.

Ahh...so that's why my two keys look different. Guess I've been using the valet key. I believe valet key doesn't allow you to unlock/lock the glovebox.

+1, the smaller key is better.

The Valet key only unlocks the doors and starts the car. It wont unlock the glovebox and the rear cargo panel on the wagons. It might not unlock the trunk. idk though, I don't have a saloon

The key is for a Valet, which is a person who will park your car for you at hotels, fancy restaurants, etc. The key keeps the valet from going thru your glovebox and stuff

Your key collection pales in comparison to mine. Prepare for photographic evidential destruction.
