Do you have a locker? LSD? something in the rear end?

An open diff will often grab and do super weird **** like that if you pitch it sideways on dry. It happens because one tire (the inside one) will stop being driven and will grab traction, throwing you the other way unpredictably.

It is possible to "know its coming" and not counter steer as much and be super quick on correcting when it does (but not over-correcting), but it's tricky.

Anyways, I doubt new tires will do much for you (possibly even make it worse), but if you need em you need em.

Thats my advice. Take it or leave it.

ya ive got plenty of tread, just seemed like a good title lol. i have always thought my car had a limited slip, cause sometimes it will burn both tires, but it kinda sounds like its got an open differential, cause i definately dont completely suck at driving, the rear end is just completely unpredictable...

Back when I had an open diff, I could powerbrake and it would spin both tires consistently, but when driving in the rain, pitching sideways and other silly fun things it was very apparent that it was open. Just jack up the rear end, put transmission in park, let off e-brake (make sure you are on a flat surface or have very good chalks on front tires) and spin one wheel/tire. If it spins easily and the other side easily turns the opposite way, it's open. If not, could be limited slip.

Well, since it is a turbo it probably has enough power to burn both tires without an LSD, but if it sometimes doesn't burn both, then it doesn't, or it has one and it is broken :-P

But yeah, like Ben said with limited slip it is sooooo much more predictable. My 242 had an open diff and you could never know if it was gonna break loose or not. It just did when it felt like it. With the locker on the 960 it is so much more predictable. Is it wet? am I turning? Then Im gonna slide...
