View Full Version : GIANT BURGERBALL - house warming party- graduation - engagement: 6/2/07 Sacramento
Hank Scorpio
03-19-2007, 01:32 AM
So, were already in the planning stages. The date might move a week or two in either direction but we are thinking 6/2. THE official house warming party, engagement party, burgerball extrodinare.
- either plan on having a designated driver or bring something to make the floor semi-comfortable (we only have 1 spare bed, it'll be a fight to the death for it). Semi-standard rules apply:
bring what you want cooked with enough to feed 2-3 other people (rule of thumb, 10-15 dollars of food/soda/ect)
If your over 21, bring some beer or booze.
Were at our NEW house, please keep my neighbors on our good side ;-)
The addy is
9179 Brevard Drive
Sacramento, CA 95829
The festivities being at 2
Some revisions
- IF your under 21 please do not come with the intentions of this being a party to get hammered at. We do not want to be responsible for serving underage kids. That being said, we WANT everyone to come and I can't watch over all of you, so if your under 21, steal some beers and get drunk, just stay in the house and spend the night ;-). Please.
- I know that we all tend to get a bit rowdy, myself the most. Lets make an effort to try to keep our house intact. we have neighbors with children and we don't want to burn any bridges.
What WE will have
The place to be ofcourse
Ice chest with ice
the grille + charcoal
enough meat to make 4 bugers + buns
A fridge
paper plates
-edit: Costco run last night resulted in enough burger meat to make 24 burgers + 24 buns. If your bringing food with you from out of town bring something OTHER than burgers (hot links, cheddarbrauts, steak, bocaburgers whatever) and its matching buns (if applicable). We also have a 24 pack of Sierra Nevada Summer Brew. If your bringing beer, bring something else. 5 points to the person who brings my favorite mexican beer (I'll give you a hint its NOT tecate lol).
We will NOT be providing
drinks (Besides water)
food to feed all ya bastards. :-P
Its pretty much the standard ROE for our BBQ's, its a potluck!

Are you serious? That means I can drink! If this turns into a camp out, I'm bringing smore makings... and beer.
Do you know what one of the best parts of this is going to be? This year, I won't be running a marathon 4 days after Burgerball so I'll actually be able to have more than half a beer!

Kyle and I are talking about going. We'd prolly take his car, he drives "No Longer Mom's Grocery Getter" (a 244dl). If I get my wagon going (needs motor/tranny) we can take that. However he'll get much better mileage than I will in the wagon (turbo).

well, if you end up taking the wagon and would be willing to haul possibly a set of 740 doors (the whole doors, not just door panels) and some coil overs that would be AWESOME...the doors arent final, but the coilovers are pretty sure.

Blast!
You guys have this planned for the one, the only weekend I requested off all year to go do something other than work. Another party.
When do things get going on Saturday? I may be able to hit the esteemed Mr. Scorpio fellow's place Saturday afternoon on the way out of Sacramento.
Anyone want to see a Citroen wagon? The Volvos aren't really going right now...

O btw I have a topper box on the Passat, so I was thinking that we can put our stuff up there and the doors in the trunk, and somehow tiedown/rope/bungee the tailgate to the roof so we'd still have plenty of room for four people inside.
Don't you guys know what a station wagon is?:uh:

I'm taking myself and three others, a 740 tailgate, two 740 doors (which may or may not fit in the trunk) and 4 people's stuff + beer + food. Duh.

doug is it a good idea to start the festivities at noon? knowing us, we'll be passed out by four. then again, people probably wont' show up as early as noon... so game on! come anytime after noon guys and gals!

When I lived in the frat we'd wake up early (like 6:30) after going to bed at about 3 because of partying for football games that started at eleven. We'd go have breakfast with what we could find in the fridges, somebody would go to winco with the house's debt card and get a couple dozen cubes of beer, and we'd drink our lives away. Go to the game, come back at about 5, pass out til 8, make somebody make dinner, make literally one phone call and within an hour a couple hundred people would show up ready to party again. If Doug can do crazy those crazy things with Volvos then he can do this. My liver hates me btw.

Noon would be early enough for me, then I could hang out some. If there's no one around I'll just stand the 142 seats up for Kyle with a partially consumed beer so you'll know I was there. Also a puddle of dexron from the Citroen would be incriminating evidence.
Assuming the new guy wants 'em. I should take pictures...

Yep. I think its in the original post but my general rule of thumb is 10 dollars or 10 dollars worth the food / drink.
Since half this board is cheap as hell and will barely do 5 bucks, it usually balances out.
