Just took the 740 out for a quick fang around the nearby industrial backroads today, nothing illegal(other than the car being just out of rego), and no 0-100 because I didn't go onto any large enough roads.

Basically they're just to demonstrate how nice my car sounds now that the exhaust is sorta 'broken in'. And in the first one you can see how much torque the car puts out from the camera lurching backwards. :oogle:

iPd Turbo Performance camWhy? Why not get a better OEM cam for a lot less money?

new wheelsCool. Which ones?

3" turbo-backGood idea. Make sure you get a high-flow cat, I hear Catco is good.

Because there are too many mixed opinions on the cam so I've decided to just give it a go.

Don't know yet, Geminis if I can get my hands on some, same with Tethys, other than that... Just gonna see what some of the big tyre stores can give me.

And yeah, thanks for the recommendation, so many brands I'm just not sure what to go with. Probably going Lukey for mufflers.

M46? please, dont waste all that time, money, and power potential with that box.

I suggest you don't get Lukeys. Mine crapped out on me about a year after getting them fitted.

I recommend Berklee PEX. They sound great, are pretty good quality, and not overly expensive either.

I highly recommend buying from Best Mufflers in Carlton. Great service, and the prices are incredibly cheap.

For a Berklee BS0806, Liverpool Exhaust wanted $110. The same item at Best Mufflers was just $65!

Hmm, all suggestions given serious consideration. I've been recommended Lukey by lots o' people though. But, having said that, none of said people mentioned longevity.

2.5" exhaust with straight through mufflers is fine. Make the cat 3" if you use one though.
3" adds more noise and fit issues. A good 3" exhaust is great, but not necessary with the stock manifold, turbo and intercooler IMO.

Add a 90 and later exhaust manifold and spend time porting it and the turbo before bothering with the 3" exhaust. The change from 2.5" straight through to 3" I didn't even notice without really hogging out the exhaust manifold and improving other aspects of the exhaust breathing.

Watching the tach it seems about right power wise for a healthy stock 740T....
it looks properly granny to go with that (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Go for a supra gearbox swap, or w58 at least, a lot stronger then the M46 and probably a better shifting box.

But the rest seems good, though as said the IPD cam gains aren't worth it compared to a A or K cam and adjustable gear.

I have no idea about machine shop costs in NSW/QLD but its nearly the same over here to get a K cam slotted or just buy the IPD turbo cam or one of johnathans modded KG2t's

yeah supra is an awesome box. but conversion costs 2 or 3 times more than M46.
