View Full Version : My dad's 122S
I'll 'shop the pictures when we get done working on the car, but here's the raws for now (1600x1200). It's a '66 122S with Mustang Bullit wheels and 265 45/17s on her. It looks pretty sick (that's what the S stands for, I'm sure). I think I liked the wheels that used to be on her (the last picture shows them in the back seat), but these look awesome. She's been lowered 2 1/2", though she sat lower with the Volvo wheels on her back in the day.
She has a B20 with nothing amazing done. All the work was done to the suspension. Sway bars and lowering springs, etc. No speed in the straights, but no slowing down in the corners. :)
Kind of inspired me to get a 122 to put a B230FT in.

Wow, Looks GREAT. I love the fact that Ford Wheels fit 122's Bolt Hole Pattern. Good to know. I think they are 5X4.5" if I'm not mistakin'.

Yeah, they're fantastic at the track. We're going to an open track day tomorrow morning, and since it might rain, we're probably taking the 122 out, since it's a traction whore with not a lot of power.
I honestly don't think it can do a burnout with the tires that are on it. Either it would dart off the line or it would break something in the drive train.

That looks awesome! The 122's are beautiful cars, and those wheels really work with it.
My pops got a kick out of the compliments. Looks like the 122 (Helga) is going out to the auto-x play day tomorrow morning, so I'll get some pictures of it in action. Last year he took Helga to the track and was pushing a new Subaru Impreza STi through the corners, even though it's 300hp ran away on the straights.
STi guy: Man, what is that?
My dad: A 40 year-old Swedish family car. What is that?
STi guy: A 2006 Subaru Impreza STi turbo.
My dad: What'd that cost ya?
STi guy: About 30 grand.
My dad: Funny. My car cost $300, with about a grand of suspension work. I imagine for another $28,700 I could make my car faster than yours.
lol pwnt xD

I told him that, as a weekend project, we should sand 'er down and do a home paint job. We'll see if we actually do that, since it would be silly to put that much money into a non-performance mod. Especially considering he has a race car he's building. :P

OMG I love those wheels!! What size are they?
I think I've decided on wheels for my 122! :) They are American Racing Thrust aren't they?! (Or something like that)!

NO! do not paint it, it gives the old 122's so much more character if you leave it! :-D
