i know i know... its not very cool to not have heat. i have no heat or a/c or even a blower motor. no vent system ect.. the heatercore blew up horribly about a year ago and i just did a quick fix and bypassed the core. during the explosion of antifreeze it decided to short out my blower motor. my ac was also junk so i removed that.. so i ended up taking it all out.. but i finaly bypassed the heat nicly. for about 2 dollars http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/9008/pict0002ct3.th.jpg (http://img208.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict0002ct3.jpg)
it doesnt leak i just got 2 90 degree copper bends and sottered them together. i also have everything ac related out compressor evaporator all lines switches ect... also took out the windsheild washer tank out a while back. crash plates and caliper weights were taken off when i got my 8" wide rims. comando bumpers are gone. im thinking i saved quite a bit of weight.. im not really to fond of my a/c and heat being gone but i never used eather anyways. the a/c never worked and since i dont drive the car in the winter heat is pretty pointless to but i still miss not even having the option of turning it on. ill probbly end up putting heat back in it one day but for now this does the job. note the spedo cable boot isnt instaled yet! ha i just got that cable and new r sports.. the spedo is off almost 50mph.. ist getting re calabrated right now.

Nice. I did the same in my 1800. Didn't weigh it but I probably lost 20lbs. Also leaves more room for the custom intake.. I never even turn the heat on in my 245 when it's cold out. Takes too long to warm up. Don't know if it'll be a problem for your purposes but you may want to upgrade to a better rad/fan to prevent overheating.
Kid, theres no T's in 'solder'.

only on T-bricks will we call refusal to do actual maintenance "weight reduction"

nice to live somewhere you don't need something to demist your screen, even cold air works for that.

I'll keep the heat working just for a way to pull heat from the coolant if the engine begins to run too hot.

i already instaled a nissens radiator with a electric fan

Hahahahah. Guilty as charged. The conversation is akward. You start all stoked and end with them looking at you with the why the **** would you strip your a/c look. So you end up justifying it with the fact that you didn't want to pay.
Just take a 12v heat gun, a bit of velcro on the dash and *viola.* I had a '67 911 that had the janitrol heater go to hell and just used a heat gun as my defogger on cool mornings. Worked pretty well.
^ Hahah. Nice. You want that flush mount or with the little bungee wire for those trouble spots?

Normally I can figure out what you're trying to say with some concentration, but this one just stumped me. Can I get a translation to English please?

It seems that English is our second language too.
Just where is 'Appleton?'
Losing the heaterbox with the heater core, a/c avaporator, the condenser, compressor, lines and such may well save fifty pounds altogether. ten pounds lost is as good as adding one HP. 'Tis better to take that weight off of our fat asses. This may be somewhat more difficult then living without a heater or A/C in Kalifornia.

Go Packers.
Anyway, I only lived without heat once. I lost 3 girlfriends that winter.

In Louisiana I won't need a heater core, so weight reduction will be including that.

If I understand correctly Wisonsin has that fourth season that makes an effective heater a real bonus when driving in aformentioned fourth season.

The A/C mess is a good 10-15lbs. Living without heat up here means I'd likely crash into someone in the lovely seattle traffic we have with all the near-freezing damp air we have.
Refusal to do maintenance...your car has broken heat that you label as a "weight reduction"...usually a t-bricker would think of it that way.
I didn't take out anything to repair misbehaving heat in my 744. I looped the lines under the hood and shop vacuumed the water out of one of the heater core outlets in the firewall. Took like 5 minutes of no drama or parts removal. Came back a day later, replaced the offending heater valve and hose under the dash and went on with life.

Plug the water pump, plug the head, eliminate another seven pounds of crap.

Seeing how big they get, I am not surprised they hunt those blood-suckers, too.
