I love that car! I'm not even joking. Maybe it's cause its the same color as my 244, and mines sporting a couple good dents as well. Whatever you do, don't destroy it; drive that thing with pride. It's the poster brick for Volvo ruggedness.:-P

hey guys! its my car.. basically, i got the car for doing yard work at my neighbors, so yes it was free. While at my friends house, we were goofing around jumping on the old hood, the roof and the trunk. one of my friends took out a larger hammer, with a wedge end on one end. he looked at me like if i let him hit the car with it, he would be the happiest 27 year old child in the entire world. i took it, tapped the car once, the rest of my friends hit it a little bit, and i thought that was it. it diddnt look that bad with those dents, but i went inside to use the bathroom and i came out to 4 monkeys going nuts with hammers. they called the gutter style dents in the 4 corners "speed channels". the hood was so dented and bad, i let it go for about 2 years but after flying up 3 or 4 times i decided to use my 40 dollar credit at the junk yard to put a hood on it. i have 15's on the rear and 14's on the front, with 4 different brand tires, same size per axle though. i have a free kenwood deck that i went through and cleaned up, free 6x9's for the rear in boxes, some crappy front jensen speakers, and sirius satellite radio. i regularly drive the car from appleton to milwaukee, and it actually makes it. as far as things not working, the timing belt blew this winter, bent 2 wheels and slid the rear axle over 2 and 1/4 inches during an ice storm. the over-drive wire always brakes. thats about it. runs like a champ! really got me into volvos, i'm picking up an 81 turbo 242 soon, and trust me, it will not end up like this! im going to fix the small rust spots on it and do some small mods. the corolla in my signature is also mine, and im swapping in a 20 valve 4 cyl into it this summer. 242 will be daily fun car. welp that pretty much sums it up, any more questions or comments go ahead!
