nothing but turbo

I want to get myself for christmas a set of borbets type E in 16x7.5".
the recommended tire size for this rim is 205/55-16.
can I safely go with a 215/55-16 tire for this wheel? or I can settle for a 205/55-16, I guess...
tnx guys and happy holidays to all!

I'd like to know the same thing, only i was wondering about 225 and or 215 on a 16x7.5" rim, and not only the fitment on the wheel but the fitment in a 240 (with rear fenders rolled).
thanks!

I have the same rims on my car with 215/55/16 kumhos on it and it only rubs when you go over a big bump. You can see a pic in my profile. 215 is the widest i would try to fit because in the front its really really close to rubbing the bottem of the spring perch. And if you are getting them through tire rack they will try to tell you they do not fit and they do, just tell them thats what you have on there already and they'll leave you alone.

My tire and wheel guy told me that the 17" X7.5" would fit better because of tire sizes, but it also depends on what you want. It probably effects the ride a little bit.

215/55/16 is a huge tire.
205/50/16 is close to stock size. 215/50/16 is a little taller, and 225/45/16 is a little shorter.

so (...and I'm guessing here!) 225/45-16 are ok for a lowered car? do I need spacers?...
by "close to stock size" you mean: "the ratio compensates for the 1 in. difference [from a 15" (stock wheel) to a 16" wheel] in rim diameter"?
I dunno about these wheels stuff...

parkgh34's 244 has the eurosport tuning springs on it and hes running 215/55/16, and lowered about 1.5" or so. I agree wtih him from looking at his car that any wider would be rubbing

I have 225/50/16s, and they fit fine.
my car is lowered on Apex springs.
