Exhaust backpressure?

Changing a pipe that far removed from the heart of the system probably isn't going to cause any *actual* changes in the car's performance. The only way to be sure is to put the old pipe back on, take it to a REAL dyno, then reinstall the new pipe and dyno it again.

I have a stock Volvo cat, and the Jetex system like the Volvo system is 2.5 inch anyways and noise is not intrusive. Problem is my butt dyno tells me it is now slower.

Try doing a test at a 1/4 mile dragstrip with the old pipe & with the new pipe.

I think your butt dyno may need recalibrating.

Sometimes a car feels slower if the power comes on smoother. I drove a Viper that never felt really impressive, until I looked down and saw I was doing well over 100.

A lot of mods that cause you to loose midrange power for the gain of a few peak HP will make the car feel faster, even though it lost performance.
