I'm attempting to install new shocks, but drivrs side lowr shck bolt rusted/frozen to spacer sleeve
("Damn Yankee car") :grrr:

A) Does anyone know off-hand what material the sleeve is made of(steel, alum, etc) ?
B) Will heat separate, or better to just cut and replace ?
C) Part source ? (I'm thinking volvowholesalepartsdirect yes/no? )

A} steel
B} cut with a sawzall
c} replace with any steel pipe about the right size laying around the shop. Or look around at Lowes.

Thnks gents on offers, trying to figure out exact size & get car back on road today(need for work).
I have the old hacked up bolt/sleeve, off to local franchise mega hardware or home depot....

* done lots of shocks on all sorts of Volvos, but never had a sleeve freeze, weird part is, the sleeve wasn't very rusty. Wondering if it had to do with torquing on when rear bar when mounted and/or some "tweeking" that may have occurred from lowering springs (but otherwise stock torq rods, panhard bar) ??
Also, apprntly PO was around 300+ lbs
