IPD Garage Sale, May 19, 2018

Yup, that's right, you guys know the drill. Get it on your calendars now, book your rooms, warn Uber/Lyft drivers.

Sorry Harald, beat you to this one. Even got the ok to post the date BEFORE posting the date. :-P

122power 01-24-2018 08:22 PM

Back in may! Yessss

Hathos+ 01-24-2018 08:32 PM

Lol.

Thank god it's back in May!

Hopefully everybody can make it and there's a good pre-event at Jared from IPD's house before :oogle:

gsellstr 01-24-2018 11:04 PM

Already trying to plan out my May. Coordinating IPD along with a week long wheeling trip to Moab, gonna be a busy month! Celebrating having the credit card paid off..by spending money. lol

swedishiron.com 01-25-2018 12:39 AM

So why did they move it back to May?

Jeez, I was getting used to it being in June (I know, only one year).

I guess at least 1/2 of "swedishiron.com" will be there...drturbo may not be able to make it :-(

LC4CARL 01-25-2018 12:44 AM

Woot!

Harlard 01-25-2018 12:54 AM

Dammit. You stole this from me.

gsellstr 01-25-2018 01:33 AM

I know they pushed it out a little last year to spread the gap between Davis and IPD, but they pulled it back a little closer this time, probably a little nicer weather or some such detail.

^Fixed. I just messaged him about it.

Well, I guess we're back to the spring schedule. Probably going to be nipply again as it has been in the past when the winter has been cold and wet.

LC4CARL 01-25-2018 02:11 AM

No kilt this year?

KeizerBrickGuy 01-25-2018 10:16 AM

Yaasssss!! I won't be doing army things this year during ipd.

cwdodson88 01-25-2018 12:32 PM

I wont be doing any more "improvements" until after IPD. Now I just need to finish the last "improvements" and update my build thread. Wow, a year flys by when your to do list is fatter than your wallet.

That should be my signature...

IPD is coming: look busy!

John has worn a kilt when it's February and the temps are in the teens; I don't think a little cool May weather will deter him.

LC4CARL 02-01-2018 02:10 AM

We TB’ers do have a certain sartorial refinement.

Wilford Brimley 02-01-2018 07:31 PM

I don't know if I've ever seen him not in a kilt

It's a rare occurence. If you'd been at NW on Friday, you would've seen me in shorts. Then, during the 2012 XXX meet, I was also wearing shorts, which threw Tuff240 and a bunch of other guys for a loop. A LOT of doubletakes that day. They were all like :wtf: about it.

cosbySweater 03-08-2018 10:22 PM

I'll be there!

Tfrasca 03-09-2018 12:09 AM

I was really looking forward to seeing if my car could make it to Portland, but then realized I have prior engagements. So bummed!

t8fanning 03-09-2018 12:53 AM

I'm making my yearly pilgrimage. Are we doing drags or will it probably be too wet? If we do drags, are there any e85 pumps be had in Portland/Vancouver?

KeizerBrickGuy 03-09-2018 10:58 AM

Yes to E85 in PDX.
E85 Locations

Khrrck 03-12-2018 03:53 PM

I'll be there. May offload some of my old parts.

darksider415 03-12-2018 04:56 PM

Seriously thinking about buzzing up there in the GT... Let me check my leave...

LC4CARL 03-12-2018 11:28 PM

It's a great event.

MrBrown 03-13-2018 01:21 AM

Got my paint ordered. Hopefully I can shoot it before the event. Tired of 4 different colors...

primer it, dont rush your paint. Just lay a few coats of primer, leave yourself enough primer to lay down a sealer coat just before you spray your paint.

I try to stay away from doing any body work on top of just bare metal. So I'll primer, then body and block, then seal, and if the sealer goes on tidy, I hit it wet on wet with my paint.

swedishK 03-19-2018 12:59 AM

i'm going to try to be there. we'll see.

Johann245 03-27-2018 02:44 PM

Fixed... This year will be the first time since 2011 that the blue wagon will be there. First time since I've owned it, probably third or fourth time since the previous owner got it in 2006.

benski 04-30-2018 06:58 PM

I'll be unloading 80% of my accumulated Volvo stuff at IPD this go around... give away a bunch; sell other for cheap. 240 and Amazon. I look forward to seeing everyone.

Please stop by the booth / tent for swedishiron.com and say "Hello!"

gsellstr 04-30-2018 11:20 PM

I'll swing thru the booth again this year as well. Rolling up in Ryan's ride again this year, at least the motor is fresher though so we won't be sniffing oil fumes. lol

MrBrown 05-01-2018 12:09 AM

Looking for 84 and earlier front hockey sticks if anyone has them.

We should have'em at the swedishiron tent. The 1983-85 style ones...

Anyone have the parts I'm missing here?

https://i.imgur.com/CP1POis.jpg?1

I also need the different wiper arms. Mine are straight all the way to the end and I've seen, and would like, ones that have a slight bend at the end so my wipers won't sit at 45* when parked.

gsellstr 05-01-2018 10:20 AM

Hmm, I dunno Eric, maybe I'll change it up, do it on the drive up thursday, or sometime friday morning, what fits your schedule best?

cwdodson88 05-01-2018 10:58 AM

Looks like you need a new strut and the adjustable socket. I’ll check my stash.

Is there supposed to be something on the other side of the hatch too?

As in the passenger side. I only see a post and a bracket.

Passenger side gets a nifty little locking post. You can lock it in like 3-4 positions from down to fully open. I know I’ve only got one of those, maybe benski has one.

gsellstr 05-02-2018 01:15 AM

I think it was Taro.

Hathos+ 05-02-2018 02:24 AM

It was probably me...

As a matter of fact, I'm fresh out and need one!:lol:
