Is there a difference between a turbo and non turbo distributor? I purchased 2 distributors and neither one worked for my 1989 740 turbo but when I took out the distributor to my 760 turbo, the 740 started right up and the new distributors did not work in the 760.

No. There is no difference between the two, turbo versus non-turbo. It sounds like you got a couple of bad distributors.

I purchased a new LH 2.2 distributor for my 740. The key on the back was 180 degress off. Maybe your new one is the same.

Thank you, I will try and turn the key 180degress.

Make sure the distributors have the Hall sensors for LH2.2.
