I ended up 'having to' put an 850 turbo in-tank pump in my 940.

So I recommend going that route.

It was probably broken from a towtruck driver using it to tether the car to the bed... a big no-no that I have personally had to stop them...

I have done this using only two bolts 180 degrees out of phase. I welded the bolt heads to the balancer so they cant back out.

This is a good fix.
