I would offer that there's nothing inherently mystifying about an ancient single cam volvo head and basically any competent performance shop should be able to turn it out better than it went in.

Yeah that works good in something like a 6 liter v8, not so great with a 2.3l banger. You're gonna have to shift to 4th every time 91 or 89 makes a little elevation change..
