I believe it goes to the turbo solenoid valve which has three hoses on it, 1 of which goes to the turbo actuator. There a line drawn from "to fresh air hose" to the solenoid valve in the diagram.

Thanks for the pointers guys. Pulled engine with trans out the top. Figured I'd replace PCV and T-belt all in one go. Damn tight fit out the top though.

Doesn't spool the turbo quicker. More compression means more power before boost kicks in. Lower compression makes the engine capable of running higher boost.

If you want to DIY I recommend 850 to '98 V70. '99 has throttle modules that can be pricey and don't seem too reliable. '00+ Are networked cars. Which means $$$ for repairs.
