Hey all.

Just finished up with the front end of my 89 244. Replaced the full rack and did front struts. Ball joints and end links didn't seem to need replacement but I could be wrong.

Regarding your seat foam, I read an article here a long time ago about someone using Denim as a foam patch with spray adhesive. I used it myself and it worked pretty well.

I dont know if this is relevant, but on the 86+...

I dont know if this is relevant, but on the 86+ you can just open the crimp and then pry the trim upwards toward the glass and then, installation is reverse of removal

Get yourself an extra valve cover gasket seal and inspect the cam from the top. Removal of the cam might be the best way to give you more comfort, valve-wise.
