17 inch tires are pretty common, I don't know why you said they're not plentiful in sizing. Also, since the oem polaris are only 7 inches wide, I probably wouldn't go any wider than 225.

And yeah, the tach output wire from MS is going straight into the signal in the tach, nothing in between.

Never stack spacers/adapters. Sell your adapters and buy larger ones. With 9.5 inch wide wheels, you're going to need like 50mm adapters to get the offset low like the poster above said.

If you have IRS, your rear wheels will stick out farther than the fronts. On my 780 I run 17x8 with 225/45/17. With my adapters, it makes the front wheels +7 and the rear +17, which is fairly even....
