I wouldn't change them unless I knew something was wrong. Maybe look under the hood at night (in the dark, engine running) to see if they're arcing. If not, I wouldn't spend the $ on new wires yet....

Finally did this headlight restoration with the Sylvania kit.
Took about 1-1/2 hrs. Results are amazing and the lights look like new.

That would then makes sense that my '70 145 had the un-glamorous "chubby" latches.
