FWIW I ran an 86 b230 with the skinny rods as a +T for almost 100K with upwards of 18PSI boost with out issue. Granted I had all the supporting hardware and didnt cheap out on the parts I bought.

I heard that Volvo originally said 10 years then pushed it to 15 then 20. Wouldnt disable it. If it had an issue with a bad airbag or module, well thats another story.

I ran my 86 with about 7-8 psi with no issues for 8 months if I recall. I upped the boost to about 12 and it quickly took the AW70 out. I replaced the auto with an m47 and upped the boost to 18ish...

I used a Bosch pump from a T6 S80 and bypassed the undercar main and never had a single issue. If I listened I could hear it prime but otherwise not a sound.
