I ended up setting the fan face up and soaking...

I ended up setting the fan face up and soaking the bottom bearing in oil for 2 days. Tested it with the 2 speed switch and it works great now.

I would like to properly clean and lube the bearings. I popped off the bottom cover and it's pretty grimey in there. Don't want to assembly everything and have it crap out on me in a few months.

Volvo 140 Blower Motor

Trying to get the 140 (1968) ready for colder weather driving, so first step is getting a working blower motor.

Pulled the assembly and the motor will rock gently if given 12V. Doesn't spin too...

Cranked it with wires coming off distributor cap and all had spark, tested each individually. The engine is getting fuel and spark.

Engine harness was replaced about 8 years ago and its still good...
