Could some foreign matter such as oil be going through the maf? An oil or water droplet will cool the hot-wire much more than air for a brief moment causing the ECU to inject more fuel

from personal experience when I pull the ezk or the ecu from the connector for a little bit, it makes the car immediately use the new values. otherwise it 'remembers' from it's last learned values....

Trying to get lh2.4 to run well without the iac is not worth it. You can get it to work in the environment you set it up in well, but once the weather/temperature/humidity changes it'll run like crap...

you should be able to check if its the handbrake if you drive around with it slightly engaged. the rattle may change or completely stop and then you can say for sure if that is it

Yes, mine slid right out of the crank where it is seated. Then replace it with the real pilot bearing and remember to install the pilot bearing clip to keep it retained

The auto pilot "bearing" is not a bearing, it's a cylinder of metal with a hole in it. It'll roast either the crank or the trans input shaft (probably both) if you ran it like that very long
