So what I'm hearing is you want to buy the 5.3 I have. BTW, it's got a factory ECU and all you need to make the 80E work with it is a harness for the trans and a bit of tuning time.

NC doesn't do emissions testing on anything pre-OBDII, and only then in very few counties.

There's supposed to be a visual inspection for emissions equipment that happens, but it never does.
