This 780 is a 1991 and the year stamped the block was '91. It did have the 13mm rods but being a '91 motor, it had the piston slap issue that a lot of '91's have.

All I can say is that it is a greasy water-cooled Garrett T3 on a pre 90 manifold. Don't remember the specs on those but someone will chime in with that info.

On 92+ cars (wider rad.), they only have the rad. cooler. I have mostly seen NA 7/9 cars with AW70/71L/72L. Turbo cars mostly had AW71's.

Have you tried jumping the pumps at the fuse panel and then try to start it? The relay not only powers up the fuel pumps but other things as well.

If it is just one side then it might be running rich, burning oil, or something along those line but if is all over or mostly in the center, then it might be a oil leak.
