Could it be because the original are 35 year old balsa wood that has inherent flex and the aftermarket are fiberglass? Period photos show them to have the same curve too.

Car wash brush. Scrub with soap. Rinse. Repeat as necessary. Pressure washer is a great option too. If you want the car truly pristine, go over it with a clay at and polish and wax the hell out of it.

My car came with a 3" turbo back exhaust system. Running a walker hi-flow cat and a magnaflow 3" muffler. I quite like it, it's relatively quiet and sounds like a factory 'tuned' car without too much...
