If the OD switch is of momentary type then it will be more complicated- you need a latching type of relay. Otherwise the lights will be only ON as long as you are pressing on the switch.

Generally on N/A motor that will lower high RPM HP output but may add torque down low. Depending on the gearing and use of the car that may be a good thing. And a turbo may take care of the high RPM...

Or just keep driving if you are sure you've fixed the problem. After few drive cycles (warm up from cold, highway speeds) the light should go off once the ECU confirms that all is fine.

That method is totally doable by plugging ammeter instead of the fuse by the shifter and measuring current. AFAIK you need to unplug O2 sensor heater and PCV fitting heater, main pump (under the car)...
