Volvo built this chassis about 25 years, and they did nothing, absolutely nothing, to improve rust-proofing. There is aftermarket rear wheelwell guards, similar to front one, and it helps a lot.

It might be TPS (thottle body switch) where WOT (wide open throttle) switch is still in use. N/A Lh 2.4 has it, but it can cause problem on a turbo ECU.

There is no "factory limit" on fuel pressure. On Lh 2.4 it is 3,0 Bar (45 psi) OVER manifold pressure. Stock fuel pump limits pressure at 5 bar, think there is somekind overpressure relief valve.
