I had a year long battle with a no spark / no start that turned out to be the ground wire at the coil. Tight enough to look good, not tight enough to actually ground the coil ignitor consistently.

The 12mm bolts will absolutely rattle in the 1/2" heims. I had the same problem on my 242 years ago. You'll need metric or a sleeve.
