What are the dimensions for the spacers you used to fit the 114.3 Subaru wheels? 114.3 opens up a ton of options for nice, relatively inexpensive wheels!

Sounds like an overboost thing. Check to see if the wastegate is getting the vac signal it needs, it could be as simple as a kinked vacuum line. Or a hole/rip in said wastegate vacuum signal line.
