you can use the 2.4 flywheel and sensor, and run ls coils (or whatever other flavor of lessor ignition you'd like)

did you use the 16v distributor or the 8v distributor? if you used the 8v one, it doesn't align the same..

shoot ignition timing at the cam gear, those don't slip. if it's in the ball park of tdc...

seems to be what folks do, but shortening the 8.8 going in a 740 will make it narrower than the oe axle, so you'll need to account for that
