Problem solved. Well, identified. Defective caliper. One half from a drivers side, one from passenger. Wasted a whole day and waaaay too much brake fluid.

I gave that a shot - pulled the cover and gave it a few taps with a wrench. Haven't had a chance to dig in to the wiring to bypass the relay. I did find and replace the underhood fuse with no luck.

Got there and was able to get the car to run for a few seconds...

Good news - looks like it was treated well and appears to have fresh and shiny plug wires, rotor, cap, and brand new vacuum lines. Should bode well for how things go this weekend.

Good stuff, never tried to adjust the actual aux air valve, always just used the knob on the throttle body. Ignition timing is around 12-14 deg, cam gear is 2 deg advanced. Will try that adjustment.
