The 740 engine wiring harness has the lighting circuit wires built into it. I would probably just snip the engine wiring and leave the body wiring.

I would use a scope to look at the square wave output signal of the hall sensor.

Next you gotta make sure the computers are powered up. Key on AND cranking. AND grounded properly. Then signal in. (RPM signal).

Undertorqued crank pulley will do that. I use the crank holder tool and a 3 ft breaker bar to tighten it. Or the 1/2" impact.
