I will say very similar symptoms for my 740 were caused by a bad ECU.

Bench tested fuel pump relay and it's working fine. The Radio Interference relay was also clicking properly. I just can't imagine it being something other than the ECU gone bad right now.

Just swapped the plugs, wires, and cap + rotor.
The gaps on the old plugs were a little larger than they should have been ranging .030 - .035. Glad they're now up to Volvo spec....
