Lightweight parts for your 240
Stepped flywheel, 28lbs. Flat flywheel, 20lbs. My lightened flat flywheel, 16lbs
"Early" starter, 13lbs. "late" starter that's smaller, 7lbs. I don't know the year change, but some 940s should have them. Penta engines too, I'm told.
Bosch alternator 240/740/etc (100amp), 14lbs. Small Denso alt, about half the weight of a Bosch.
M47 clutch cable end holder (small three sided block of steel, fits on the end of the clutch cable over the fork), several pounds. Earlier M46 version, about 1 lb? The difference was staggering for such a small piece.
M46 105lbs, iron case. M47 trans, just shy of 80lbs, aluminum case. Both were complete w/bell housing and shifter assembly, minus the shift lever (the part on the interior side).
122lbs: 1030 axle assembly, no brakes. Housing, ring & pinion, axle shafts w/integrated hubs, and some mounting bolts but no suspension links. 1031 was ~10-12lb heavier.
