Anybody got some pics of an 84 242 with leather interior that I can get some ideas from? Dave Barton has a beautiful black car with a tan interior but I want to see some without buttons...

Dave's 242 is pretty much what you'd get for a 242, leather interior-wise. The only 2-series Volvos with factory leather that didn't have buttons on the upholstery were the 1978 260's, some post-'91 240's that had the optional leather (which I think may've been a dealer option, instead of a factory option), and the 1975-77 GL models. Pretty much everything else had buttons.

Tan leather in an '81 242DL that I owned:

And, 1989 front seats from a 244GL in an '82 242 Turbo that I owned:

The rear seat is the same as on a 244, and the only difference between the 242 and 244 front seats is the extra latch mechanism for tilting the seatback forward.

Thanks so much for the help. I like the buttons. Any idea what these seats are...? They look a lot like the pattern for my brown cloth interior...which is the pic below Ralph

245DL vinyl seats in the 1978-88 pattern. 1989 went to closer pleats that look almost like the leather seats. Car looks to be an '86 (or an early '87), due to the brown parking brake console and handle, plus the door panels that have the different cloth section.
