Scotty's 1984 Volvo 245GLT

Well, it's not exactly one of a kind. I had a very similar custom front end setup on my 245 as well.

But, I decided to go somewhat stock in look, and now have this:

However, the spoiler is now silver, so it looks even more stockish, but 1980 GT stock.

^Hey That MUST be the same guy that did mine.

...looks good BTW. The second pic that is.

 If the car was in the Olympia, WA area when it got hit, probably. Mine was hit when the PO was driving it. Truck crossed the road without looking to see that there was a car driving. PO t-boned the rear tire of the truck @ 30 mph.

Thanks. It's coming along pretty decently. Still need to have the driver's side frame rail pulled downward a little, so the car stops sneering, but once it's done, it'll be like my old silver 242, but with the silver grille, instead of the black DL fog lamp grille depicted in one of the pics. I also added a pic of the other side of the car, taken last weekend.

Alright well Keith and I worked some more on this car yesterday. Banged out the big dent pretty good and got myself ready for an inspection so I can register it.

So it got too dark to take anymore photos, but the bumper skin went buh-bye, the fender got pulled in much better, and the license plate got flattened.
I still need to:
•Get a cover for the marker
•Make the reverse lights work
•Smog
•Register
•Insure

Things that have happened since:
Tried to put in new seat - Status: Fail
Tried to fix speedo - Status: Fail

More today:
Gots lots O' Stage Zero goodies.

My Beautiful new cold side intercooler piping. Yayz!

To-Do Still:
•Get a cover for the marker
•Make the reverse lights work
•Smog
•Register
•Insure
•Install new K-Jet fuel line. Boo!

Looks like you need more than just a bumper cover. Maybe also the bumper face bar.

With respect to the speedo, you've replaced the speedo cable, perchance? Mine failed at the speedo gear. The tip broke off inside the hole on the gear's shaft. Swapped my old 242's speedo cable into place, and my speedo began working again.

She's alive!! And run's better than when I picked it up. Keith and I just finished swapping out the old K-Jet fuel lines for the new ones that supraboy so graciously provided for a nominal fee.

Still working on wiring.

Took it for a spin around the block. Feels great, now I just need to hook up the instrument cluster again so I know what its actually doing.

Pics to Come!

Baddy, i have a set of 265 wagon rear springs here if you wan't 'em.

Yes, I want!

badvlvo -
The stock rear sway is worthless. Only the front, at 23mm (or is it 21mm?), is worth anything.

It's larger than what I have right now. And I don't need too much more bar, just more spring at this point in the build.

We shall see ;-) 2.5 stroker will probably be more likely.

2.5 is good. Offset grinding should be able to get 2.6 to 2.65 out of it. Then some large sleeves will get the real estate needed for 3.0.

I'm working on getting the **** together to build one right now. I really want a 3.0 redblock.

I have a friend who is looking into which pistons we can use and which rods. We will probably be resizing the rod journals on the crank to be able to run a SBC rod and piston combo.

My biggest concern is overheating. We will be losing some of the coolant passage in this build. But we will have superior cylinder walls in the end.

What you really need to be doing is getting it ready for the next autocross.
