242 front bumper fitment

Hey there,
I had a question about the fitment of a 1979 volvo 242 front bumper and lower valence? The one I have now is in bad shape, and the impact bar is badly cracked down the middle. Unless it's supposed to be that way, which I doubt. Anyway I found a front bumper + Impact bar + Valence for sale but it says it's for the 1989-93 models.

Is that an asthetic thing, meaning that's just how they looked that model year, or does that mean it wouldn't fit on my '79?

You'll need the later bumper complete with shocks, and the mounting 'T's that hold up the ends of the bumpers.

The rubber commando bumper filler trim will work but it won't be quite long enough at the ends.

Not a big deal if you trim off the dragon's tooth at the ends, you'll probably be the only one that knows unless you post a picture on here and all the boys see it and carp about it.

I don't see the afore mentioned plastic 'T's that hold up the ends in the pictures.
