3 month hiatus ;0

Hello again after a 3 month hiatus.I 've been busy with work and a trip to NYC.During this past week I searched for parts at the local p n p and got so lucky in a dashboard 99% perfect ,better than the old spider webbed in which I had with plans of redoing the top with leather. The new acquired one has a 1 inch split which I can fix easily. Also I scored some Saab/wrx seat covers for the brick.I had pulled the seats I had in the cressida but the upholstery was gray. Also I got some fog lights phone app activated and they are awesome and all for free on fathers day woohoo!!!
In trying to get back 2 the brick within 2 weeks from now .
Ok see ya

back to therapy with the brick!!!

Hey finally i got to continue some work with the brick.I pulled all the stuff i had dumped inside the wagon for the trip and yesterday I got all out and I had to start from 5 after loosing track of what i was doing with the wiring . So finally i got to set where the pcm goes and after all the work I had done I had to restart to get back on track. I was able to figure it out after 2 hours and i had to be patient cause all the wires got tangled up,.
But it is on its way to be wired up. I ve been finishing the dashboard and the gauges are already set in a stainless steel plate i got from the scrap box at work. I was a pita to cut but at the end was well worth it. I m dying to continue working on it as well as to finisj=he reupholstering the suby seats black and white.
Ok thats all folks !!!!

sloooowww update .

Wassap. Today I got to do some major wiring fixo and is coming along fine. I got some injector electric plugs from a Subaru and they fit perfect in my injectors and as a matter of fact, I grabbed a couple here and there and I got them to match by pairs, Wohoo!!. Also I finally updated the gauges and the instrument panel with the Rx 7 speedo, and the tach from a 6 banger 960 that happens to be a Yazaki part made in japan. I tested the gauges where they will be permanently installed and they look good. So I finally got to finish most of the wiring inside the cabin and what a pita.I mentioned before that I got a dash for a killer price with only an inch ripped by the usual place past the instrument panel hump, but no biggie. Also I'm working with the center control by adding some weirdo switches just for the hell of it. Another score was the electric mirrors which I always wanted but had to get them to work with a Monte Carlo power mirror switch. It took me a while but it works. Also I got a complete third light and I turned it into led lights using Ford Mountaineer third light led assemblies and is bright as the Yankee Stadium, (lived there 4 fifteen years) so I am in my way to assemble it piece by piece. Another thing now are the WRX seats which are being reupholstered black and white thanks to a Saab/Subaru combination. My friend’s son was helping me clean the car. He says the brick is missing an eye. I got the other one at home getting it buffed.
I'll post some images for eye candy and I hope you all enjoyed Labor Day. I did. I spent it with a brick !!! lol

1 year

Hello guys
Today marks a year since eI got possession of the brick of my dreams ( nightmare to wifey)
I am still getting stuff for it and slowly getting stuff done to her. I am still fixing the fuel pump assembly because you all know it is nor a pretty sight once you unveil the plate cover. I also got a new locking ring cause the old one will never be the same shape again and the new one was in a good deal too. Planning to go this Sunday , depending of how soon I finish a break job.
Ok have a nice weekend

update.

Hi. Just finished the instrument panel but I gotta see if the gauges work due to the fact that I had to do a monster assembly with all the wiring and new items been adapted to the dash.
I also buffed the right side of the car and the paint still looks good for the year.
I got a brand new fuel pump assembly form the wreck yard for $10 bucks and it had been recently installed >WOOHOO!!!!
ok some more pics for eye candy hope I can get to do something this weekend As iI missed already 2 Sundays and the temp is dropping :-(:-(:-(:-(:-(

I am indeed. Need to get the Frankenbeasts together one day.
As for donations. Dana has been running some cool fund raisers to keep the site without ads. Part of the donation gives photo hosting. So many good threads on here have lost meaning after the Photobucket debacle.

out of hibernation ,

Hello Again,Is been almost 5 months since I touched the brick. I wanted to go today but the weather did not help. I am working on a homemade short shifter for the toyota r 154 transmission, with a tacoma 5 speed shifter which seems to have a longer stud, I am also working on re engineering the torque rods with materials i got from work free. I am almost done with the first one, and total cost is less than 10 bucks but takes a lot of work.
Ok See ya

7mgte first purr!!!

Hey, back again here. I got last week a hell of a deal in a dual exhaust for a Brz and I took a gamble to see if it worked. Man does it!!! .Also the seller was real nice and included the entire exhaust length for the price of one. I was dying to go today since last night to see if it works and it was made for the brick wagon and I just turned it upside down and turned around the end bells. Had to cut the rear plastic cover but I was gonna get rid of it anyway. Part of the piping will also be used cause it has a resonator and it looks cool too.I just have to take it to a muffler shop to get the rear elbows done and have it welded together.
Finally the engine purred after Sep 2016. Men Is been a lot of work but it has taken longer cause winters here don't help much. The gas is old so I need to put some racing fuel to clear it out. Fuel pump was superb and blew out the little toy rubber hose and I hear it POP when it developed pressure. It was easy to take out and replace the hose. Once installed I sprang a leak on the fuel rail dew to a loose banjo bolt for the cold start injector. Began testing the waters in ignition and at the beginning it was "Houston we have a problem". I checked for current in the coils and nothing. I checked a relay and it was not sending power to the coils. Rewired it to the fuse box and , BAM!!!! I got spark. Then I tried the second time and it cranked but no go. So then I checked the injector resistor pack and OOOPPS !! I had forgotten to give 12v to the injectors. Rewired it to the fuse box and tried again. At the beginning it wanted to start but since it is turbo and I have not installed the intercooler yet( still in modification process) the air was not metered properly and after 3 seconds the engine shut down.I disconnected the maf wire and voila!!!! the 6 stringer purred like a lion. I was so static to see the engine run again!!!. Now i gotta finish the dashboard and figure out the master clutch pump that's not working. So I might not be able to do anything next weeks dew to other things that are gonna be taking place in the weekends coming up, but my goal was to hear it purr and it did. HOORAY!!!
ok just wanted to share this Magnus moment with you all!!!
SEE ya DZ :rofl::):oogle:

HEy guys, Ive been seen some of the stuff is been done in here and Ive been doing some massive stuff in the brick wagon. Updated and upgraded the coils, sparks plugs( thanks to K IN THE LOCAL PICK AND PULL FOR THE IRIDIUM FREEBIES) and I made a custom cover plate for the spark plug wires and plugs. Also Im swapping the factory brakes for a Subby WRX/ Infinity/Altima/Suzuki combo , so if anyone is interested in 3 calipers, two good rotors and a new set of pads for cheap, let me know !!!
Im still fighting with an oil leak cause I had to weld the pan in a rush to get the car out of the old shop. I got the engine started bout a month ago with the new plugs and it really purred!!!
But now I want to see how the chevy coils work.
Ill try to post some images ( Is been a while so hopefully I can Make it )
Ok see ya !!!
