Well, I've started a little bit.. This will still take a good while because of other priorities, unfortunatly. But i find it nice to at least have a thread about it, seeing the progress.
Well, started out with this...
this is at the mansion we rented in denmark.. drove it back home to norway some days later - impressed that no cops stopped me
Back home, off with the parts
Didn't look too bad under there.
yeaaaah, I'm gonna wash it a little bit and remove that rusty spot.
Busted inner fender.. with all sheet metal removed it looks pretty okay
Good parts, except for the hood
Delivered to the shop for some straightening of the inner fender. And for a check of the chassis, to see if it's a bit twisted or moved at all.
Bought a parts car!
Too bad it's a bit rusty, so I can't use the hood, fender and those parts on my car - too rusty But i will give them to the shop-ppl so they can align all parts perfectly.
Tada! Back from the shop. The right "chassis-part" was pushed up about 1", so he had to straighten it out a bit. no big deal.
New parts, fresh from the dealer. test-fitted, nice..
Better pic.
New grill and trim.. Thanks to Angus ^^
--- This is as far as I've come till now, i have far too many expenses at the moment, but when June has come and went, all money will be going to the Volvo.
I've asked the dealer for prices, so I will order a new fender, hood and front plate (with the hood-lock in it, dunno the name)
Fender: $745
Hood: $647
Front platethingie: $275
It may be costly - you could get 5 immaculate 242s for that price i guess.
But the car means everything to me, so i buy new parts from the dealer. No shady rusty metal that needs a lot of TLC and then rusts again after 30 minutes.
But I will be doing some small stuffies with it this spring, as often as time allows it.. Door handles will be grinded and painted black. Rear lights will be reassembled (cheap ****, the glass is falling off, lol), loads of metal bars and other shiny things in the engine compartment will be painted, the inside of the front lamps will be painted black (legally), etc etc. loads of small plans.
but anyway, the car hadn't been washed since june 2007, so I finally had some time, and the snow is almost gone, so I headed over to my dads - results:
Trim on!
It's smooth as a baby's butt now. Sorry for the bad quality, had to use my phone.. so it doesn't shine so much

That's it for now, I will update when an update come! But this will be a slooow thread. Sorry for taking your time.
