I can't figure out how to get a pdf into my Smugmug. But, looking at the Volvo parts catalog, under M47 shifter. There is one (larger) pin under the shifter (PN 1232457-0) and then two (smaller) pins forward that live in a "retaining sleeve" (PN381528-9). Any trick to replacing the smaller pins? That, and the STS bronze stuff / Homer short-stick, should make for a decent shifter?

I think I lucked out. Maybe this unit really does only have 150k miles.

IIRC I used a punch and tapped the old ones out. Even though my M47 has a ton of side to side slop inside I still noticed an improvement in feel with bronze bushings and new pins.

I'm not a fan of short shifters, but whatever floats your boat.

EDIT: Beat me to it. Mine looked waaaaay worse with 300k+

The struggle is real. Lol.

Been gathering parts for a while now. Kind of fun to actually go out to the garage and do something.

How's the rod knock?

:grrr:

On long drives, the lumbar on the driver's seat gets uncomfortable. I played with the adjuster, but could not find relief. In my perception, the support pushed into my back too far.

With certainty that I would find a broken adjuster, I peaked under her skirt only to find that everything is fine. Huh. So I dialed it all the way in and reassembled. Maybe I wasn't turning it far enough. Dunno.

So what does this thing do that the old PCV does not? Does it condense and "capture" the vapor instead of running it back to the intake? Does the pressure / vacuum variation of a turbo intake tract create problems for the flame trap?

Thx.

Turns out dad had a Volvo wagon back in the day. Best he can recall, she was a '68. Shown here in in '69 while stationed in Germany. Pretty cool.

I’m going to say- ease of access, captures vapor so you aren’t trying to burn junk vapors, and you should be able to run check valves for on/off vacuum scenarios.
